Krabi Town has a number of great restaurants. We can’t review them all – but these are the ones that we’ve enjoyed over the past decade in Krabi.

KRABI TOWN
Easy Cafe – located on the river down near the main police box in Krabi Town, along the night market on the river. This is a backpacker favorite. They have reasonably priced Thai and western food – sandwiches, pizza, breakfast. It’s all good. Inside is air-conditioned, and they have a small outdoor seating area. They have a nice brown bread for toast that I always have to get!
Jay Cee Gwit Diao Roo-uh – great gwit diao – noodle soup. If you get Gwit Diao Moo – it’s with pork slices – good. This place is more famous for their DUCK Gwit Diao… Note – they have moved across Highway 4 and are now in a bigger place. Will post a photo shortly.
Bistro Monaco’s – #1 Krabi Restaurant (Foreign Food) we found this one a couple of years ago and it quickly became our favorite pizza place in Krabi Town. Martin from Germany runs the place, along with his wife. They have a large menu including pork steaks, pasta, pizza, and an incredible selection of German Beer! If you’re not a German beer fan, he also has Tiger beer on draft (draught) sometimes. Of course Beer Leo and Singha for you locals.
Phanom Bencha Mountain Resort – if you stay at this wilderness resort out in Krabi Noi, you’ll be treated to some of the best food in Krabi. I have eaten there probably two hundred times over the years and have never had a bad meal – it is always delicious. Son and Joop are the owners and if you need to wind down, stay overnight in a wilderness bungalow and eat delicious food.
Roo-un Patchara – one of the best Thai restaurants in Krabi. Almost impossible to find because it’s on an out of the way street. Ask a motorbike taxi driver to take you there. Food is excellent, the only problem is if they have a large group and it can take a long time for your food to arrive.
Som Tam Lady – the best som tam in Krabi is located a bit out of the way – follow Maharat Road away from town and bear right down the hill after the elephant traffic lights. It’s on your right about 150m down the hill. If you don’t have a motorbike or car, you can direct a motorbike taxi to get you here. Literally the best in Krabi. Lots of seating. Great grilled chicken, snakehead fish, pork.

AO NANG BEACH RESTAURANTS
Spaghetti House Italian – One of my favorites because the food is perfect and I can almost always find a seat. During high season in Ao Nang, like all restaurants at the beach – it’s packed. Currently closed due to Covid, but possibly reopening in November 2022.
Umberto’s Italian – During high season this is a VERY popular restaurant and you may not be able to get a seat. Excellent food, and not to be missed if you’re staying in Ao Nang. Excellent pizza, pastas, and steaks.
CLOSED RESTAURANTS
Firenze Italian – (CLOSED) located right in Krabi town on the corner near Easy Cafe and the police box and where Uttaradit starts up a small hill. This is affordable Italian food with free WIFI and great staff.
The Garden – (CLOSED)Thai and western style food that is delicious and highly recommended. This is one of our regular places, and we ate there a number of times each week. Follow Thanon Maharat (Maharat Road) away from central Krabi Town. As you get close to the top of the hill and the Elephant Traffic Lights you will see Nakharin International Hospital on the left side. Make a left down that road. The Garden is a small restaurant on a corner on the right. It is across from the huge HULK statue. Prices are reasonable and the western food is good.
Sawasdee Cafe – (CLOSED) a personal favorite, and we have eaten there for three years. Great food made to order. Limited English speaking ability.
