Here is how we deal with the rain and other cancellations as they affect tours.
Rain Cancellations
- Most tours have a small deposit that is required to hold the tour for you on the specific date(s) you want. Deposits are applied toward the balance of the full tour when the tour is completed and you pay the rest in cash to the tour guide.
- If the rain is severe before your tour, the guide may choose to cancel it before you start. In this case you will receive your deposit back in full. Sorry, we cannot pay for your transportation that you already booked to come to the tour meeting place – that’s your own responsibility.
- If the tour starts and the rain begins or continues and becomes severe enough that you want to stop the tour – you can do that at any time. If one half or more of the tour is complete, you will owe the full value of the rest of the fee. So if your tour is 4,000 Thai baht and you paid a 600 THB deposit, you will owe 3,400 THB.
- If rain becomes too severe and less than one half of the tour is complete, you will only owe 50% of the total fee. Your deposit will count, so for a 4,000 Thai baht tour and deposit of 600 Thai baht, you will owe 2,000 THB minus 600 deposit you already paid, so, you will owe 1,400 Thai baht.
- We stop the tour anytime there is thunder heard close-by. In this case you will owe either half or the full tour depending if the half-way point has been reached on the clock.
Other Cancellations
- If you have a tour scheduled and you already paid the deposit, you can cancel the tour at any time before it starts and just lose the deposit.
- If you have a tour scheduled and you have already paid the deposit, the guide may choose to cancel the tour anytime before it starts and you will be refunded the deposit.
