Krabi Golf Courses and Golf Driving Ranges in 2024

[Page updated 4 March 2024]

Does Krabi have Golf?

Yes, there is some golfing in Krabi, Thailand. The golf available in Krabi is nothing like you will find in Phuket, Ko Samui, or other high-end tourist areas. Take it for what it’s worth. Have fun! There is a large golf driving range that is located outside Krabi town on Highway 4 leading away from Krabi and going toward the Krabi International Airport. The name is Hula Hula Golf Club.

Hula Hula Golf Club

Hula Hula has 9 holes you can play for around 800 Thai Baht (USD 22) and it generally gets good reviews. They also serve meals, so you can stay for lunch or dinner as well. The food is good and varied.

Restaurant: Yes, a small restaurant with good food.

Course: The course is basic and if you’re looking for something like Pattaya’s top golf courses, or Phuket’s Golfing, you’re going to be disappointed. The reviewers who were serious golfers didn’t enjoy the course. Those who came just to have fun had a great experience and recommended people come to experience it.

We’re not serious golfers and our family loved it! The caddies and staff all present an excellent atmosphere and the focus is not on top skills or play. At the moment, this is all the golf in Krabi so enjoy it!

Hours: Hula Hula Golf is open from 8 am. to 7 pm. seven days per week.

Location: How to get there? Just take a motorbike, Songthaew, or other transportation. It is 2 km closer to Krabi Town than the Krabi Airport. If you arrive there and your taxi leaves, they can call a ride for you. (GPS: 8.110628427840199, 98.96076368950794)

Pakasai Country Club – Neua Khlong (past airport)

Pakasai is an 18-hole Par 72 course that is 6, 673 yds long. The nice thing is they have a hotel on the property so you can stay and play for days at a time. Stay 2 days 1 night with golf included for just 9,900 THB. You can reserve your stay online.

Restaurant: They have a nice sit-down restaurant with ice-cream coolers, cold beverage coolers, and a variety of food dishes made to order. Closed on Mondays!

Course: 18 Hole Par 72. Serious golfers ripped this course apart, as is expected. This course isn’ t meant to be something on par with Phuket’s lovely courses, and nor are the expenses comparable. Come here for a fun 18-hole course that is very convenient to visitors in Krabi – either Krabi Town or Ao Nang Beach.

Hours: 8 am. to 6:30 every day except Friday which opens at 7 am. Note – the restaurant is closed on Mondays.

Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort

Stay at this luxury resort in Tub Kaak by Khlong Muang Beach and you can enjoy Golf and Tennis and many other things to do all on their property. There are many options for children including a very large pool and foam party at night. The beach is right across the street. Rooms start at around 6,000 THB per night in high season.

Restaurant: Excellent food options and room service.

Course: There is a small 9-hole Par 3 course with short holes where you can practice your chipping and putting. There is a gold pro on staff who can help you with problems parts of your golf game.

Hours: Sunrise to sunset.

Location: Tambon Nong Thale – Tub Kaak Subdistrict of Ao Nang/Krabi. (GPS: 8.06661294070454, 98.74590005470304)

Golf Driving Range

There was another golf driving range on the way out of Krabi Town toward Phang Nga and Phuket. It had a very large golf driving range and a small practice area. There were over 20 places to tee off from and it looks like they have some golf putting areas in the front.

The range looks a little short, with 300 being the maximum driving distance. Those of you who can hit a golf ball 300+ yards are going to lose most of your balls in the jungle behind the golf range! After 250 yards you can’t see the balls because the slope goes away.

There are dining tables under the roof and they serve refreshments and I think there is a kitchen, so expect Thai food.

Did I mention how beautiful this golf driving range is? These photos are shot in the mid-morning sun.

This one is no longer here, they renovated and I think it is now a Palm Oil plantation, like everything else. ©KrabiNature.com
