Krabi (Thailand) New Traffic Fines-Rules from 1 June 2026

We were just notified that there will be new traffic fines for violating various Traffic Rules here in Krabi and around the country. This is straight from the Royal Thai Police – so it’s valid country-wide.

Local police will decide how to enforce the law and fines in their area. Here in Krabi, police stops are almost always for helmet and Thai driving license for foreigners. Most foreigners, even those who live here, do not have a Thai driving license.

Driving without a helmet has been raised to 1,000 THB fine, with some people saying it’s 2,000 THB. Either way, police will be anxious to enforce this one as it will fill their account. Please pay attention to the 27 Traffic Rules with Fines listed in the graphic below.
