 Tour Overview

Type of Tour – Private longtail boat trip through Krabi’s mangrove forest in Krabi Town
Start Time – 6:30 AM (boat leaves the dock). Plan to arrive by 6:30 AM. If you need a later time, just let us know and we’ll adjust.

Travel Times to Pier

• From Ao Nang Beach – About 30 min
• From Tub Kaak – About 40 min
• From Krabi Town – About 5 min (you can usually just walk from your hotel to the river.

 The Boat

• Traditional longtail boat with roof for sun/rain cover
• Life jackets for 6 adults + 6 children
• Max passengers – 5 to 6 people + guide
• Boat location changes daily – we will tell you where exactly to meet the day before your tour.

Children welcome! The river is calm with no big waves — quite safe.

 Your Guide

Your guide is a local Thai birdwatcher who’s spent his entire life on the Krabi River. He knows exactly where to find the snakes and birds and has led thousands of tours. He speaks a little English and can identify nearly every sound you’ll hear out there.

🐍 What You’ll See

The tour is focused on finding the elusive Mangrove Pit Viper snake (T. purpureomaculatus) – a beautiful and strong pit viper found in the mangroves and shore areas around Krabi. If you’re interested in birds as well, you’ll see those too. Just ask the boat captain.

Common bird sightings include kingfishers, herons, egrets, Pittas, Brahminy kites, bee-eaters, and more.

 What to Bring

• Long-sleeve shirt for sun protection
• Hat & rain poncho
• Sunscreen & mosquito spray (some mosquitoes at times, not bad while moving)
• Camera & binoculars (guide has 1-2 pair of binoculars to share)

The tour launches from Krabi Town on the Krabi River. The exact dock changes often — we’ll send you the precise location the day before your trip. Check WhatsApp.

 Rates for this Private Boat

• 3-hour tour – 3,900 THB

If he is offering a 2-hour tour the price is 2,900 THB.

That’s the total price per group. If you are 1 person, the price is the same as if you have 5 persons. Sometimes only the 3-hour tour is available depending on the schedule.

1. Tell us your preferred date and tour length (2 or 3 hours)
2. We’ll send a Stripe.com link for your deposit
   • 3-hour tour – 1,500 THB deposit
   • 2-hour tour – 1,300 THB deposit
3. Stripe accepts debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, etc.

Deposits are fully refunded if the trip is canceled due to heavy rain or guide cancellation (rare).

 Best Time to Book

We recommend doing this tour on your first morning in Krabi. If rain cancels the trip, you’ll still have other mornings to reschedule. If the first morning it rains and is cancelled, and you cannot reschedule, your deposit is refunded.

You’ll need to meet the guide at the dock in Krabi Town.

Estimated transport costs:

• Grab (Ao Nang → Krabi Town) – around 350–400 THB each way
