Krabi Spider Tour? (Tarantulas, Huntsman, and Wolf Spiders)

Some photos of various spiders and scorpions found during our spider tour field trips. If there is one thing we can count on seeing a lot of – it’s spiders. Now we know where to find a lot of different species.

Keep in mind that none of these are very dangerous. Nobody has been bitten on a night walk. Spiders in Krabi are mostly just amazing creatures to look at and shoot photos and videos of.

This spider, we found last night – it was mind blowing. It’s the OGRE SPIDER. They make a little net of web and thrust it over the prey they catch in it. It’s bizarre!

A small brown scorpion sting hurts more than the large Asian forest scorpion stings. — This small (3″) brown scorpion hurts more than the big Asian Forest Scorpions you may have seen!

WE can find the Cobalt Blue Tarantulas and the Golden Fringe Tarantulas. If you want to focus on finding these big tarantulas, let us know.*

We have these Pantropical Huntsman Spiders (Heteropoda venatoria) also. Some of them are around half the size of a large tarantula.
