Challenge yourself to climb 3 of Krabi’s massive hills in 1 day! This is the most challenging tour you can do in Krabi and nobody else offers it. We will take you by van to all 3 locations where you must climb to the top, take a photo, and show us. If you succeed… well, you get something cool that nobody else has.
Why Do This?
Free KRABI VERTICAL CHALLENGE t-shirt! Bragging rights. Accomplish something on your Thailand trip other than the most alcohol consumed in 7 days. You don’t get a shirt for that!
What Is the Challenge?
You’ll climb 3 little bit difficult things. But, when climbed in the same day, they add up to 3 very difficult things!
- Ngon Nak Mountain Trail: A dirt, sand, rock, and root covered trail under the rainforest canopy leading 3.7 km ( miles) up to the top of a stunning viewpoint, the best view in Southern Thailand. The top is at 500 meters elevation. That’s about feet high. Total distance: 7.4 km ( miles). You’ll take a photo from the highest rock of the view, and then walk back down to the ranger station. Get your rest on the 45 minute ride to the next location – you’ll need it!
- Phra Suksa Sawan Mountain Road: A paved road climbing up a hill with dense jungle on both sides of the road. Near Krabi Town. You’ll hike 3.7 km to the top of the road, then take the 300+ steps up through the jungle to the viewpoint at the top. You’ll take a photo of the temple from there and then walk down the hill to the waiting van. Total elevation climbed here: 240 meters.
- Wat Tham Seua Buddhist Temple Steps: Don’t get tired now! There is still a 1,256 step climb up Wat Tham Seua (Tiger Cave Temple) steps bringing you to 280 meters elevation and another stunning view of Krabi’s inland countryside. Some steps are just 15cm. Others are 40cm high! We save this for last because if you did it first, it may break you. Doing it last gives you a fighting chance!
Total (Lateral) Distance Covered: 15.4 km ( miles)
Total Elevation Climbed: 1,020 meters! (over 1 kilometer vertical elevation!)
