- Khao Pra – Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary / Khao Nor Chu Chi* (general area of forest surrounding Crystal Pool and the Blue Pool -Sra Morakot)
- Krabi provincial town – the Krabi River winding around the mangroves.
- Morakot Resort – out by Crystal Pool.
- Ban Nai Chong lowland forest fragment
- Khao Pra – Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. Trails are marked with letters on maps. H Trail is good.
- Krabi provincial town. The Mangrove Walkway. Near the public hospital.
- Khao Pra – Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. Main road going to Ban Pandin Samer.
- Khao Pra – Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. Hin Khor Kwang
- Khao Pra – Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. Trail marked “U”.
- Krabi provincial town. The mudflats area near Thara Park or anywhere along the river here is good for seeing various bird species.
- Khao Phanom Bencha NP Office. Go to the Huay Toh Waterfall and birdwatch anywhere near the water or open areas.
- Krabi provincial town. Thara Park is good and in general you may see birds in areas with trees.

- Khao Pra – Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. Crystal Pool the “A” Trail

- Ko Lanta Islands – Filled with forest in the interior, and there is a nice national park at the southern tip of the main Ko Lanta Island that is great for sighting birds.
- Ao Nang in tree-filled areas and hotel/resort gardens.
- Hat Noppharat Thara Beach – An area filled with trees is behind the beach, and there are some birds over the water and at the small islands you can walk to.
- Khao Pra – Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. Crystal Pool – “B” Trail
- Krabi Town – anywhere on the Krabi River.
- Ton Sai Beach – Take a boat to Railay Beach and walk to Tonsai or take a boat directly there.
- Tha Pom (Khlong Song Nam). This is a boardwalk through mangrove forest and over the water where you can see a number of interesting bird species.
- Krabi Town. Maritime Park & Spa Resort. They recently re-opened though not fully. Many Thais report walking around the wooded area, so it may be allowed again.
- Khao Pra – Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. Crystal Pool “D” Trail. By the Blue Pool. This has been a good place for PIttas in the past.
- Khlong Muang Beach. This is between Ao Nang and Tub Kaek.
- Mu Ko Lanta National Park Headquarters (South)
- Krabi Town. Chao Fa Park by the evening market and behind the police station in town.
- Khao Phanom Bencha National Park. On the east side of the mountain there is a reservoir that can be good for some bird species.
- Ko Jum (Pu) Islands just south of Krabi Town
- Krabi Town Thara Park within the Park
- Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple) – Especially from the top of the stairs viewpoint, you can see Sea Eagles, Osprey, Swifts, and other birds.

- Khao Pra – Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary. The Khao Nor Chu Chi summit.

- Khlong Tom Hot Springs. You can do a tour including this one and the Crystal Pool national park the same day. Recommended!
- Port Takola Marina & area. This is a Muslim residential area, but near the marina are many birds. An odd place I wouldn’t walk alone.
- Khlong Muang Beach (east – in the forest area. No real trails, but a couple of roads going into the forest areas.

- Ban Pak Ra mangroves & meadowlands
- Laem Thong at Hat Noppharat Thara
- Phi Phi National Park. Loh Ba Kao mangroves

- Khlong Ya Reservoir. Far past Crystal Pool turnoff, going north up main road once you turn off Highway 4.
- Ko Lanta Islands. The Old Town section – Agricultural and residential area but filled with trees.

- Phrueksa Sawan. Dense forest that is sometimes dangerous with fast cars and motorbikes going around the bends and hitting slippery moss spots. Many accidents.
