This calendar highlights major festivals, sporting events, cultural celebrations, public holidays, and community events taking place in Krabi and elsewhere in Thailand throughout 2026.

January

1–2 Jan – New Year’s Public Holidays (Nationwide)
Official public holidays celebrating the start of the new year.
Mid January – Mountain Festival Krabi (Mountain View, Ao Nang)
Local music, food, and outdoor gathering set against Krabi’s limestone cliffs.
Late January / Mid February – Krabi Chinese New Year Festival (Maharat Road, Krabi Town)
Evening street food, dragon dances, cultural performances, and celebrations around central Krabi Town.

February

Late February / Early March – Krabi Naga Fest (Ao Nang Beach)
Beachside festival featuring live concerts, reggae and jazz music, local food, and fire performances on the sand.

3 Mar – Makha Bucha Day (Nationwide)
Important Buddhist holiday. Many temples hold evening candlelight processions known as Wian Tian.
28–29 Mar – OCEANMAN Krabi 2026 (Klong Muang Beach)
International open-water swimming competition held over two days along the Klong Muang coastline.
Late March – Krabi Art & Heritage Festival (Krabi Riverfront)
Celebration of Krabi’s history and culture featuring crafts, music, performances, and evening activities along the riverfront.

April

6 Apr – Chakri Memorial Day (Nationwide)
National public holiday commemorating the founding of the Chakri Dynasty.
Early April – Ao Nang Bike Week (Ao Nang)
Annual gathering of motorcycle clubs featuring live rock music, charity activities, and custom motorcycle displays.
10–15 Apr – Songkran Festival / Thai New Year (Nationwide & Krabi)
Traditional merit-making and water-blessing ceremonies take place before the main celebrations. From 13–15 April, expect major water fights throughout Ao Nang and Krabi Town.
Mid April – Laanta Lanta Festival (Old Town, Koh Lanta)
Three-day cultural celebration showcasing Koh Lanta’s Urak Lawoi, Thai-Muslim, and Thai-Chinese heritage through traditional food, music, and performances.
26 Apr – Lanta Trail 2026 (Koh Lanta)
Off-road trail running race through Koh Lanta’s tropical forests, hills, and coastal terrain.

May

1 May – National Labor Day (Nationwide)
4 May – Coronation Day (Nationwide)
Early May – Krabi Music, Coffee & Craft Festival (Krabi Riverfront)
Local coffee roasters, craft vendors, food, and live acoustic music along the Krabi River.
Mid May – Amazing Krabi Green Guide Fest (Noppharat Thara Beach)
Eco-tourism event focused on marine conservation, sustainable travel, environmental awareness, and local businesses.

Major Buddhist holiday commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Buddha.
3 Jun – H.M. Queen Suthida’s Birthday (Nationwide)
Mid / Late June – Krabi Pride & Film Celebrations
Pride Month activities may include community gatherings, film screenings, cultural events, and hospitality-related programs.

Mid July – Lanta GypSea Coffee & Craft (Phra Ae Beach, Koh Lanta)
Coastal lifestyle event featuring local coffee, artisan crafts, food, and beachside acoustic music.
28–29 Jul – King’s Birthday & Asarnha Bucha Day (Nationwide)
Public holiday period including the King’s Birthday and the important Buddhist observance of Asarnha Bucha, followed by the beginning of Buddhist Lent (Khao Phansa).
Late July – Andaman Trail Krabi (Khao Phanom Bencha area)
Challenging trail-running event through mountainous rainforest terrain.

12 Aug – Mother’s Day & Queen Mother’s Birthday (Nationwide)
Mid August – Krabi Agro & Local Farmers Fest (Krabi)
Agricultural event featuring regional fruits, organic produce, plants, local products, and Southern Thai farm goods.

Early September – Scenic Half Marathon Krabi (Ao Nang / Klong Muang)
Coastal running event featuring half-marathon, shorter-distance, and recreational races.
Mid September – Krabi Skimboard Competition (Ao Nang Beach)
Coastal sports competition attracting skimboarders to Ao Nang’s shoreline.
Late September – Krabi Halal Food & Culture Festival (Krabi / Koh Lanta)
Celebration of Southern Thai Muslim culture featuring halal food, traditional dishes, local products, and performances.

13 Oct – King Bhumibol Memorial Day (Nationwide)
23 Oct – Chulalongkorn Day (Nationwide)
Public holiday commemorating King Chulalongkorn, Rama V.
Mid to Late October – Vegetarian Festival (Krabi & Southern Thailand)
Taoist festival associated with Chinese shrines and communities. Participants follow a strict vegetarian or vegan diet, with processions, ceremonies, and special food available throughout the festival period.

November

24–25 Nov – Loy Krathong & Yi Peng Festival (Nationwide)
Loy Krathong is celebrated throughout Thailand as people gather beside rivers, lakes, and beaches to float decorated krathongs.In Krabi, popular gathering areas include the Krabi Riverfront, Thara Park, Chao Fah Pier, and Ao Nang Beach.In Northern Thailand, particularly Chiang Mai, Yi Peng lantern celebrations take place around the same period.

December

5–7 Dec – Krabi ReWild Festival (Spirit Mountain)
Multi-day outdoor festival centered on climbing, movement, yoga, music, nature, and sustainable living.
5 Dec – Father’s Day (Nationwide)

31 Dec – Ao Nang New Year Countdown (Ao Nang / Noppharat Thara Beach)
