Krabi Government Offices (Police, Immigration, etc.)
Immigration Services
Open Monday through Friday but closed during all Thai holidays. You can extend your non-immigrant visa here for two months for just 1,900 THB. You walk in and take a number from the machine. Usually it is not crowded, and the place has changed completely from years past. Staff are now courteous and helpful.
Police in Krabi Town
There are two police offices in Krabi. One is just past the post office on Uttaradit road, on the left as you’re going up the hill. This is the main branch. Unless you have been directed to go to the main police branch in Krabi, you should start with the police box at the bottom of Chao Fa Road on the river. There is always a policeman or two who speak English well enough that you can get your point across.
Police in Ao Nang
The police station is unmarked – but, it’s right on the downward slope of the main road connecting Ao Nang and Noppharat Thara beaches – just below this intersection here.
Public Hospital in Krabi Town
The entrance for this government-run hospital is on Uttaradit Road (the road that runs along the Krabi River just outside of the main part of town. Take Uttaradit Road away from town center and you will find the hospital about 1 km. on the left side of the road. The hospital leaves a lot to be desired. If you have a SERIOUS issue, I strongly recommend you take a van, ambulance, or taxi to Bangkok Hospital which is in Phuket. They have a top rate facility there and speak English well.
Post Office in Krabi Town
As you follow Uttaradit Road up the hill past the police box, you’ll see the Post Office on your left. It’s a large building, and now they even have a drive-through.
